SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Antioch. temp. L. Staius Murcus. Proconsul, 44-43 BC. AR Tetradrachm (26.5mm, 14.89 g, 12h). In the name and types of the Seleucid king Philip I Philadelphus. Dated year 5 of the Caesarean Era (45/4 BC). Diademed head of Philip I right within fillet border / Zeus Nicephorus seated left; monogram to inner left and below throne, E (date) and thunderbolt in exergue; all within wreath. Prieur 6; McAlee 6 (this coin illustrated); RPC I 4129; SC 2491.3; HGC 9, 1360c. Good VF, toned, some light marks and scratches. Rare, four examples known to Prieur, and three to the authors of RPC.
